OPEN-AIR MUSEUM

Rogatec is one of the oldest Slovenian cities. The museum presents various aspects of traditional life in this part of Styria, south of the mountain Boč (978 m), through a number of typical buildings (shop, farm, barn, forge, inn). Educational programmes have been developed for children in order to make them aware of life in the past. Among other things, they learn how to make bread in the traditional way. He was selected in 1997 to represent Slovenia for the Best European Museum Award in Lausanne.
