SAINT PIERRE CHURCH

Accessible directly from Piazza Tartini, the interior of this church is only visible through a gate, which is quite common in Slovenia. Dating back to the ^13th century, the church has undergone several renovations, most recently by the architect Pietro Nobile in the ^19th century. The nave, which reflects a certain low-relief sobriety, is architecturally harmonious. Take a close look at the statues on the altar representing Jesus Christ giving the keys to Paradise to Peter the Apostle.
