Just a 5-minute walk from the heart of the city, the capital's train station remains small, provincial and human. It was built in 1848. The marble and woodwork give it a luxurious look. The dragon, emblem of the city, occupies a beautiful central mosaic in the main hall. For a few cents, you can buy a small, pocket-sized booklet that is very useful, summarizing all the departures and arrivals from Ljubljana. There are connections to Croatia, Austria, Hungary and all cities in the country.
