FESTIVAL DES LANTERNES GÉANTES

The city is reputed to be the country's Christmas capital, so it's only natural that it organizes one of the most renowned Christmas festivals. The concept revolves around the construction of giant lanterns by the inhabitants of the various barrios (neighborhoods). The lanterns have to be made from local materials, and some are over five meters in diameter. Then comes the parade of these uniquely designed multicolored lanterns, organized in the barrios and accompanied by groups of dancers and musicians.
