EREEN KHARGANT

Closer to the capital of theaimag, Olgiy, the site of Ereen Khargant allows to discover ancient steles bearing Turkish inscriptions. Thanks to the dry climate of the region, the remains, which date from 10,000 BC to the first century AD, have been well preserved and allow archaeologists to trace the evolution of tribes from hunter-gatherers to pastoralists and then semi-nomads. These stelae are not worth the detour alone, but they may justify a short detour and a stop on the road to Tolboo.
