AIMAG MUSEUM

In addition to the classic collections devoted to local flora and fauna, this three-story museum offers a good introduction to Kazakh culture, anthropology and the history of the region, including the communist period from the 1920s to the 1990s. The visit is worthwhile, especially for culture buffs, and the labels are written in English! It is an opportunity to learn more about the local ethnic groups and their traditions. Inside, there are also two handicraft stores that will delight art lovers.
