UUSH MANKHAN

Uush Mankhan is an area covered with sand dunes that stretch for 5 km from east to west. The sand of the site is known for its healing properties. According to the locals, it can relieve ailments that affect the joints and kidneys. A resort was set up in the area in 1986 to offer treatments. Near the dunes are the ruins of Sair Us Urtuu, which was a stopover on the road between Beijing and Urga at the time of the Manchu rule over Mongolia (17th to 20th century).
