SANGIYN DALAI NUUR

This small freshwater lake is especially famous among bird watchers. Eagles and swans converge here, especially in autumn. A small island in the center of the lake houses the ruins of the Khukh Burd monastery, built in the^5th century and destroyed in the 1930s. The writer Danzan Rabjar made it famous as the setting for his plays. The mountains and hills surrounding the lake offer a postcard landscape. Nevertheless, it must be earned! You have to take a dirt track to get there.
