KNIGHTSBRIDGE-ACROMA COMMONWEALTH CEMETERY

A plate commemorates the memory of the 1st South-African division to the battle of Cyrénaïque (November-December 1941). The cemetery counts 3,651 tombs, including that of a French and an Algerian. The tomb stones are of the same format, as it is of use in the cemeteries of the Commonwealth. This one is open to the visitors by his guard Mohammed, who places opposite with his family. Employed by the British embassy, for twenty-five years it has been occupied, with another guard, of the perfect maintenance of the cemetery and the gardening.
