Ideally situated between Green Square and the square of Gazelles, the Al-El Hotel is a true institution in Tripoli. It is equally frequented by Libyan officials, as well as by businessmen and travellers. Lovers of the genre will appreciate the imposing lobby, in line with the architectural canons of Libyan socialism in the years 1970-1980. The rooms, the city side or the sea side (very nice views of the port of Tripoli) are perfectly maintained. Banks, ticket distributors (Visa and Mastercard cards), shop, car rental agency, business centre with Internet hall, sauna (5 DL for clients, 10 DL for others), fitness room, outdoor swimming pool (not always open), coffee and two restaurants (buffet and restaurant, international cuisine). Women alone will feel a little more comfortable than in most other large-scale hotels in Tripoli. The El Hotel is one of the best value for money in the capital.
