HOTEL EL MOKHTAR

Hotel €€
4/5
1 review

This recent building, in the lobby sometimes a bit sooty, ristes. All rooms (except a small single room) have a balcony where you can sometimes see the sea, beautiful bathrooms, good bedding, fridge and internet connection. They are still very new and well kept. The restaurant is on the 7 th floor. The cafe at the rear of the circular lobby, with Wi-Fi network, is quite cosy.

HOTEL BAB EL-BAHR

Hotel €€

At the foot of the Sawari al-Imad and El-Fateh towers, this large hotel is generally satisfactory, although sometimes a little noisy and crushing. A great classic tour operator.

HOTEL EL-SAFINA EL-ZARKA

Hotel €€

This large, blue hotel is located on the seafront, which is not accessible. The studios in the back yard are without great interest, the best option is to choose the rooms that are correct, with small balconies, preferably sea-side, the latter being the main interest of the hotel, relatively eccentric and displaying quite excessive prices. Restaurant, café (including a chicha coffee in the courtyard, 3 DL la), Internet room (2 DL per hour), and a large lobby. The staff is very friendly.

HOTEL AL-KANARY

Hotel

At the end of the old town. It faces the large water castle of the Kouba behind which a staircase descends down to rue de la Corniche. From the hotel you can quickly reach the Al-Dar restaurant and the arc of Marc Aurèle. The hotel was very clean, the room was very clean and the room was very clean and the room was very clean. But for those who want to stay in the medina this is a good option and one of the only ones!

HOTEL AL-SARAYA AL-HAMRA

Hotel €€

It seems that the hotel's price takes into account its very central location. In spite of everything, the rooms are comfortable without being large. The suite and a double room have an exterior view, others need electric lighting. A café, next to which it is planned to install computers with the Internet, and a restaurant on the 3rd floor (7 DL meal).

HOTEL EL-BERID

Hotel

The rooms are on the floor, while the ground floor is divided between reception and coffee. No television or telephone in the rooms, clean but in summary comfort, with or without bathroom. Air conditioning in some rooms. But at this price, difficult to ask for more, and the hotel is very central, quiet just a few steps from the square Green.

AUBERGE DE JEUNESSE CENTRE-VILLE

Youth hostel

Starting from Green Square, the hostel (buyut el-chebab in Arabic) is predetermined on your left to the great yellow and green sign in English above the door. The rooms are small and not always very clear and the furniture has matured well. The storage cabinets are closed. Shared bathrooms. No air conditioning. It is advisable to call in winter (but you have to speak Arabic, there are no more Francophone staff) to be sure to find heating in the rooms. No restaurant but a common kitchen. The location of the place is its location, in the heart of the Italian quarter near the green square. It is now the only youth hostel in the capital, the second, much more pleasant and located on the seashore in the Gargarech district, was destroyed due to urban redevelopment.

HOTEL ZUMIT

Hotel €€€

The phenomenon of hôtes guests in the medina of Marrakech is not present in Tripoli, although the Funduk Zumit, which opened at the end of 2006, recalls the concept. It is ideally located, just opposite the arc of Marc Aurèle. This small charming hotel has the particularity of blending into the structure of a former Ottoman caravan relay from the beginning of the th century, giving it an unparalleled stamp in Tripoli. In spite of everything, the country's own carpets and crafts, with their very beautiful traditional raised beds, suffer from their lack of windows. They are on the patio, where the restaurant tables are set (international and Maghreb cuisine). A small fridge and bathtub in the rooms, Wi-Fi network throughout the hotel, a Moorish café, a visa ticket for Visa and MasterCard in the entrance.

HOTEL TEBAH

Hotel €€

A proper establishment. Rooms 501 to 503, among others, offer unobstructed views to the Sawari al-Imad and the Mediterranean towers. The suite is spacious, with a nice bathroom, a nice bed and a large glass bay, although the dirty roofs of the area are not the most beautiful panorama of Tripoli. No restaurant but a café on the 1 st floor, next to the reception (sometimes only Arabic-speaking) which offers a taxi service for the airport (from 10 to 15 DL) and sells postcards and maps of Libya and Tripoli. Good value for money.

HOTEL AL-ANDALOUS

Hotel €€

Located on a higher street than its two neighbours on rue Razi, Hotel Al-Andalous is a good hotel in Tripoli. Although it has a slightly old age, the decoration of the rooms is nice, in yellow and green tones. Instead, ask for a room on the south façade, because the windows of the rooms on the back give onto a wall. The restaurant offers international cuisine at the rates of stringency. Computers connected to the Internet and telephone at reception.

FOUR SEASONS HOTEL (FUNDUK EL-FOUSOUL EL-ARBAA)

Hotel €€€

As its name does not indicate, this new 4-star is not part of any hotel chain! It is located in the main street of Omar Moukhtar, one of the main axes of the city centre overlooking the green square that can be reached on foot. It occupies a large building in the glass facade above a arcade. The spacious rooms are equipped with satellite TV, high-speed internet access (and a computer connected to the suites), minibar and bathtubs and bidets in the beautiful bathrooms. Their garden blends dark woodwork with an inspiration from mid-Art Deco, mid-oriental. Those who do not give on the street require electric lighting. The hotel offers a car and transportation service at the airport (15 DL), a laundry service, a 24-hour room service, a restaurant on the 7 th floor (international cuisine mainly, between 7 and 35 DL) and a busy coffee (2 DL coffee) at the hotel entrance. Wi-Fi network in lobby and ticket dispensers (withdrawal up to 800 DL) at the hotel entrance. Parking, billiard room, gym and internet hall.

Targeting both business and leisure travellers, this hotel is unanimously recognized as one of Tripoli's best value for money.

HOTEL ATTAWFEEK

Hotel €€

The hotel has expanded considerably and its prices have nothing less than doubled! As always in the neighbourhood, it is mainly aimed at people on professional travel. It offers comfortable and clean rooms, although without charm, with satellite TV and good bathrooms. Those who will be able to choose from the suites, a good size with a bathroom with all comfort and breathtaking views of the church, and the dirty roofs of the street opposite. On the 6 th floor there is a gym. Free Wi-Fi system (free), Visa and Mastercard tickets in the lobby. Room service, laundry, coffee, possibility to organize your trip for the airport (from 10 to 15 DL day and from 15 to 20 night DL). The whole is very honest, despite a somewhat excessive price.

HOTEL SAFEER

Hotel €€

This hotel opened in December 2007 in a new building. On each floor, the rooms are spread around the main patio, which gives a slightly oriental touch to the neutral aspect of the whole. The rooms on the street are clear, the others much less. Comfortable though without a stamp, they are decorated with kitsch frames. They are equipped with mini-bar and small bathrooms with bathtubs. Cafe, very correct restaurant (between 15 and 45 DL meal) on the 7 th floor with view of the roof roofs and three computers connected to the lobby.

HOTEL AL-YOSSER

Hotel €€

This very good hotel has carved a strong reputation in Libyans and expatriates, who do not hesitate to recommend it. It is a pity that the oriental decoration of the entrance hall is not included in the rooms. Clean and pleasant, they have satellite TV, international call line, minibar (extra) and safe, shower or bathtub. The hotel also has a restaurant where European or Oriental cuisine is served, a small coffee and laundry service. A few steps from San Francisco Church, the street is quiet. At the reception, Sevaj will enchant you with its good communicative mood and professionalism. An excellent address!
