This garden was created in 1991 and was designed "à la française". It leads to its impressive Art Nouveau palace inspired by 19th century English crystal palaces, a postcard of the city. A grandiose greenhouse of glass and steel is surrounded by lush vegetation.
The Museu Botânico/Herbário that it houses attracts researchers and botanists from all over the world. It holds a scientific herbarium of nearly 330,000 plants, one of the most important collections in Brazil. Exhibitions on environmental issues are regularly scheduled here.

Il est possible de s'y balader en marchant, d'y faire un footing ou tout simplement de s'allonger sur l'herbe pour se relaxer !
La serre en verre abrite des végétaux assez impressionnants et le "jardin botanique" abrite certaines espèces Européennes (assez original de voir des Brésilien admirer du "thym Européen").
Habitant actuellement à côté de ce jardin je le recommande vivement à toutes les personnes souhaitant se relaxer dans cette grande ville ou tout simplement prendre en photo la serre qui est un des emblèmes de la ville !
