Museum of Sacred Art offering a guided tour in English of a collection of liturgical elements in various styles
Located on the upper floor of the Archbishop's Palace, in the Plaza Dom Pedro II, next to the Cathedral da Sé, the city's Museum of Sacred Art houses an impressive collection of liturgical elements produced between the 17th and 19th centuries in the Mannerist, Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical styles, including Images of Roca; about 400 pieces of imagery and silverware exhibited in 13 rooms tell the political and religious history of Maranhão. The guided tour is offered in English. Its collection has undergone extensive restoration work.
