Foundation housing a number of objects, letters, books and manuscripts by the author of Suor, as well as photos of Amado's daily life
This foundation, inaugurated in 1987, is dedicated to the wonderful Bahian writer Jorge Amado, who died in 2001. This sumptuous colonial house with its bright blue façade dominates the Largo do Pelourinho. Some objects, letters, books and manuscripts of the author of Suor, The Old Sailor or Dona Flor and her two husbands, as well as photos of Amado's daily life taken by his wife, the writer Zelia Gattai. The charming café is a meeting point for the city's intellectuals.

A very interesting visit that traces the author's life and work. The place is pleasant and each book is summarized and contextualized. Strong point: everything is translated into French. I recommend.
