FORTIFIED DE SÃO DIOGO

The fort was built in the 17th century, but it was between 1704 and 1722 that the architectural restructuring gave it its present configuration, before final modifications at the end of the 19th century. Today, models of Bahia's forts and videos of the fortification system of Brazil's first capital can be admired. More prosaically, there is now a pleasant "bistro" where you can eat and drink a cool juice or beer to escape the heat of the Bahian capital.
