IGREJA DO SANTÍSSIMO SACRAMENTO

The Santíssimo Sacramento da Rua do Passo church is a symbol of Bahia's religious architecture. Inaugurated in 1736, it has undergone successive transformations and extensions over the centuries, one of the most remarkable being the addition by Joaquim Francisco de Matos Roseira and Cipriano Francisco de Souza of two elaborate balconies in the church's chapel in 1848.
