This museum tries to present the whole cultural dimension of the religious fact in baroque Brazil. There are superb liturgical objects. It is the only museum dedicated to this subject in Latin America. The museum presents more than 400 liturgical objects as well as sacred art, such as paintings, sculptures, ex-votos, objects and vestments, many of which have been "forgotten" for decades in sacristies. The collection, which dates from the 18th to the 20th century, has been totally restored and preserves the liturgical memory of Tiradentes.
