Housed in a building from 1895 designed by the architect José de Magalhães, this museum is a little marvel not to be missed. The exhibition is fascinating, fun, interactive and really well presented. You will discover all the minerals that are exploited in the region. The must is the attraction of the Mina de Morro Velho, where the emperor Don Pedro and the empress Teresa Cristina went. A virtual elevator takes you down the 2,450 meters of depth.
