Pico do Papagaio is one of the most popular hikes through the rainforest, via a narrow path in the heart of nature

It's not the highest peak on the island, but it's the most popular hike. The trail to Pico do Papagaio, at 980 m, is a must. You climb through the rainforest for around 3 hours of fairly intense climbing, following a narrow path through the heart of nature that offers magnificent panoramic views of the mainland and the ocean. In fine weather, you can see the Pedra da Gávea de Rio. The hike can be done without a guide during the day, but if you fancy a night hike, we recommend you take one.

The pic papagayo is not the highest point of the island, there is another which is thirty metres superior, but it offers a superb view of Villa do Abraao. Allow 3 hours stands and 2 hours of downhill slopes. Guides can frame hiking, but you can only get up here, the difficulty is average.
