Presidential palace decorated in period style, housing a museum and a magnificent park crowned with superb imperial palms
Built in 1867, it is the former palace of the presidents of the Republic of Brazil between 1897 and 1960. The palace, which was a private residence before becoming the presidential palace, has kept its period decoration. At the end of the visit, we can see Getúlio Vargas' room in the state it was left on the day of his suicide on August 24, 1954. Before leaving, it is restful to take a stroll through the museum's magnificent park, crowned with beautiful imperial palm trees.
