Museum presenting the history of the city of Rio, through numerous paintings by artists, furniture and photographs
Formerly the property of the Marquis of São Vicente, the 19th-century mansion that houses the museum was part of a coffee fazenda and was later acquired by the Count of Santa Marinha. The museum presents the history of the city of Rio, from its foundation in 1565 to the middle of the 20th century, through nearly 17,000 pieces, including numerous paintings by artists such as Taunay, Grandjean de Montigny, Visconti, furniture and photographs.
