Quite a majestic monument, including a museum and a mausoleum with the remains of several Brazilian soldiers

Built in 1960, the rather majestic World War II War Memorial (you can't miss it, on the Aterro de Flamengo, just past the Santos-Dumont airport on the way to Zona Sul), includes a museum presenting the glories of the Brazilian army during the Second World War, as well as a mausoleum with the remains of some Brazilian soldiers who participated in the Italian campaign in 1944 alongside the Allies. The Americans had pushed the Brazilians to join the Allies.
