DIA DA INDEPENDÊNCIA

It is the Brazilian national holiday, the day of the country's independence, which dates from September 7, 1822, when the future emperor Dom Pedro I refused to return to Portugal. It was established in 1949. Of course, this event is celebrated in all Brazil and in particular in the large Brazilian metropolises, but as often, beauty of the natural setting of the city obliges, it is in Rio that it takes its most beautiful colors. There is a large military parade on the Avenida President Vargas and an air show on Copacabana!
