TEATRO PRINCIPAL

The most prestigious theatre in Mallorca. A true marvel, housed in a 19th-century building. Inaugurated in 1667, it was originally known as the Casa de las Comedias. The current theatre was designed by Mallorcan architect Antoni Sureda i Villalonga and decorated by French set designer Félix Cagé (who also worked at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona). With a rich and varied programme, the municipal theatre hosts opera, theatre, circus, dance and music productions.
