These festivals feature a bull (representing the Spanish) and a condor (representing the indigenous). This noble bird is caught and tied to the back of the bull, and the two fight. Most of the time, of course, the condor wins, and the party continues. If the condor is wounded, or even worse, if it dies, it is a very bad omen for the village. The protection of the condors having gained in audience, the celebrations become discreet and continue in the most isolated villages.
