A modern, interactive museum presenting one of the special features of Santa Maria Island's natural heritage: its marine fossils and the various deposits where they were discovered. Explanatory screens and animated maps make for a fascinating visit. The museum also introduces us to the life and research of Dalberto Pombo, a passionate naturalist who settled on Santa Maria in 1952 and spent his life promoting the island's natural heritage.
