This is Rome's largest food market, located in the cosmopolitan Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, next to Termini. It used to be held in the piazza itself, but was moved to allow the square to undergo a facelift. In a cheerful, colorful atmosphere, the stalls overflow with spices from all over the world. All around, Indian grocery stores and Asian restaurants. Don't miss the fish market. A unique atmosphere and a privileged place in Rome to stock up on exotic produce!

Jusqu'en 2001 ce marché historique romain longeait les jardins de la Piazza Vittorio, avant d'être déplacé vers une ancienne caserne, tous proche de là. Très belles les couleurs et les sons du marchée, avec des venditeurs et des clients italiens et étrangers. Les prix et la qualité des aliments différents sont excellents. En particulier, il est le meilleur endroit à Rome pour les épices qui arrivent de tous le coins du monde. Aussi excellent le riz et les légumineuses, mais je recommande ne pas oublier d'acheter la chicorée ou autrement la gouter dans une typique "trattoria" romaine avant de quitter la ville. Une occasion gourmande à ne pas manquer!
