Basilica integrated into the remains of the Baths of Diocletian in Rome.
Integrated into the remains of the Diocletian thermal baths, the building was commissioned from Michelangelo at the twilight of his life by Pope Pius IV. The artist's decision to preserve the original antique structure explains the Greek cross plan and the vaulted vestibule, once corresponding to the tepidarium. There is a statue of Saint Bruno, founder of the Order of the Carthusian monks, by Houdon and the meridian of Bianchini, a sundial drawn on the marble pavement at the end of the 17th century.

Une entrée guère impressionnante mais ça vaut le coup d'y jeter un œil quand on est de passage dans le quartier

Une Basilique superbe et très grande, très différente des autres et qui vaut la peine qu'on la visite.
