Paba is absolutely wonderful!! I reached out via email multiple times before my stay with questions (like transport from the airport to the hotel) and they were always quick to respond and super helpful. The staff is so friendly, the rooms are very nice, and it's literally a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum. There's also multiple restaurants right around the hotel. Definitely a great place to stay in Rome!!
The location of this hotel is great. It has clean rooms. The only issue is rooms are noisy. Specially it is an old building and every door makes noise.
My husband and I stayed here for our Honeymoon and we had a wonderful time at the Hotel Paba! We stayed on the fifth floor and the view was delightful however it is a bit of an inconvenience when people do not close the door to the elevator which causes you have to walk down stairs and more stairs especially when you have your luggage. I know the Hotel has no control over that so i would stay here again ! The WiFi was a huge plus for us along with the smart Tv's !
I stayed here in 2009 with my two teenage children and loved it! I remember Alberta well and felt simpatico! She just might remember me too, from Minnesota and my two kids adopted from Korea. Good memories!!
Nice hotel in a good location if you want to visit the Colosseum or get to other places in Rome. The Cavour metro is a few minutes walk away.
The room seemed to be recently refurbished and was very clean and comfortable. It had a very nice bathroom with an excellent shower. It even had USB-A and USB-C sockets next to the bed.
I arrived about 10pm and this meant there was no reception available (they seem to close about 7pm). However, they contacted me on the day of arrival by email and WhatsApp with very clear instructions on how to access my room, which worked first time.
The room was on the 5th floor of a building shared with another hotel and private apartments. This meant using the elevator, which was very small and old fashioned, a surprisingly fun experience. However, on a couple of occasions I had to take the stairs as someone had left the door of the elevator open on an upper floor meaning it wouldn't return to ground level.
The only minor downside was that most of the electrical outlets in the room were of the Italian 3 pin standard, which meant my MacBook charger (2 pins common for rest of Europe) would not fit. I ended up using the socket in the bathroom which was of the style I have found in other countries.
If I ever return to Rome I'll definitely consider staying here again.
Overall there was nothing necessarily wrong with this hotel. Location is good, rooms were clean, staff was polite, air conditioning worked well. That being said, I probably wouldn't stay here again. I was traveling with someone with mobility issues and we chose this hotel partly because of the elevator. However, this hotel is definitely not handicap accessible. Though there is an elevator, there are several steps (one of which is the height of two steps) leading to the elevator. The elevator itself is small and does not really fit a regular sized wheelchair. Sometimes someone would forget to close one of the elevator doors so we'd have to walk to each floor until we found the open door for the elevator to work again. Also, though we had 3 people staying in one room, we were only given one key which needed to remain in the room in order for electricity to work. So, when one person from our party wanted to nap while others went out, we had to wake them up to come let us into the first door and then our own room.
Cozy and clean rooms within walking distance to the colosseum. Many restaurants and cafes on the street. The bus stop is also right in front of the hotel. The only bad thing is that the walls are a bit thin, but it was not noisy at bedtime at all. Would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable accommodation in Rome :)
