This hotel is the most charming little pocket of beauty in Trastevere! We were blown away by the service, charm, quality of rooms and the courtyard is heavenly. We will definitely be returning at some point!

I booked the classic room and was expecting to stay at the main location that is advertised and in all of the pictures. On booking it did say "Orangerie Entrance" but I thought nothing of note at the time as I had no reason to assume it was anything but the main entrance or an entrance consistent with the pictures online. Well the entrance is attached to my review so others don't fall into the same trap. The entrance and this building is basically a half step up from a college dormitory. Beyond the entrance issue the shower heat was inconsistent which made it difficult to shower. Would recommend staying away (or booking the nicer rooms).

Very American friendly hotel. Everyone speaks English and even the breakfast is traditionally American. Lots of cool bars and restaurants 5 minute walk away. About 10 minute taxi ride to all of the attractions. The courtyard is beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are nice and updated

This hotel made a wonderful first stop on our honeymoon. Wish we could have stayed longer. There is a wonderful breakfast, with great service and coffee. The rooftop terrace offers a great view of the city to relax with. And the rooms are well kept. In a great neighborhood in Trastevere with many good restaurants nearby.

This is what I call a hidden gem.
If you’re into old school vibe hotels, this your place.
If you’re into literature, old Europe, history or are what the germans call a „Bildungsbürger“,
this is your place.
If you prefer hotels with charm, rather than soul less places, this your place.
The hotel, owned by the famous Agnellis if I’m not mistaken,
is located in a big, old monastery.
In summer, breakfast is served in the beautiful, calm courtyard.
And if you, or your partner is a morning bird, they even have a church inside the hotel, where they still do masses around 8.30. h. in the morning.
Good to know:
- very clean rooms
- Hotel is located on the roman rive gauche,
in Trastevere. It’s 8 minute walk to the other side
- Hotel has a gorgeous roof terrace, bar, restaurant & 24 hs concierge.
- Lime scooters and E bikes are found all around the hotel. Take bikes. The cobblestone streets will kill your back on a scooter.
- Car garage on site
- The Gianicolo hill, with its beautiful park& views is behind the hotel
- Bathrobes, slippers, water cooker& instant coffee in room
- Air conditioning & heating in room works. Don’t forget: Rome is colder than you think in winter.
- Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner…hair dryer, bidet…is there
- WiFi is good
- Trastevere nightlife& restaurants are around the corner. If you’re a foodie, careful. Check out the Slow Food or Ganbero Rosso guide instead.
- Super safe area. Police office right a around the corner.
- Highly recommend the Luxe rooms Nr . 308 or 310.
- There you’ll have a fantastic view onto Rome, but it’s still quiet, because the rooms go to a calm alley.
- Plus it’s northern, which may help during the summer heat.
- If not available, the rooms onto the courtyard must be calm too.

My wife and I took our first European vacation for our 30th anniversary back in Sept/October 23’. Our trip included 3 nights in Rome partaking in the Ryder Cup then 7 nights on a cruise. We stayed at Donna Camilla Savelli under the @vretreats.com brand. @lifebeyondtheroom.com booked our stay in Rome and the trip was fantastic until our last day/night (not a coincidence) when $10,000 was stolen from my suitcase while at the Ryder Cup. An employee’s handheld radio was found at the bottom of my suitcase exactly where my money was safely wrapped and hidden inside a pair of pants (hotel safe was inoperable, now I know why). The front desk confirmed it belonged to the hotel and they assisted in filing a police report and offered me a free beverage. Two days later while on the cruise, the hotel offered me half the money back which was an insult and made me wonder if they were in on it. This money was our gambling, excursion, and incidentals for our cruise so we were just devastated being without cash so far away from home. The hotel has NO cameras, NO system for knowing who is in what room, and NO system for assigning radios to the employees, all very common in the US. Since October 1st, @lifebeyondtheroom.com has assisted working with the hotel to resolve the matter and I have been told that they are waiting for their insurance company to work the case/claim since October 1st. I gave them a deadline of December 5th to have everything resolved in my favor or not and that has now passed. At the moment I’m being ghosted by all involved now. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY

What an amazing hotel in the heart of Trastevere! Gorgeous old convent from the early 1600's. The staff was fabulous, especially Maria Elena, Allesandro, Francis and Silvia. This was our first trip to Rome and everyone Bent over backwards to help us enjoy it! Wonderful restaurants are just minutes away. We will definitely stay there again when we return!

Everything about this hotel is amazing, from the staff who were excellent and nothing was too much trouble to the rooms themselves. Rooms were very nice and clean and I loved the motorised blinds and the beds were very comfortable.

Breakfast was amazing with so much choice they catered for everything. I royally loved the patisseries and the cream filled cake.

The building has hundreds of years of history with the added church.

Hotel Storico dall'alto potenziale.
