Just across the street from the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, this rustically-decorated restaurant offers good antipasti, excellent seafood risotto and famous recipes such as linguine alla Reviglio (shrimp, tomato and brandy!) in a slightly old-fashioned atmosphere. The fish is fresh, straight from Ostia, and the plates are full! We eat while looking at the photos of the many artists who have passed through here since 1962. Service is friendly and efficient.

Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten in Hosteria Cannavota! Degenen die bedienden zijn al op leeftijd, ze doen hun werk met veel toewijding. Ze zijn terecht trots op het overheerlijke eten dat ze bereiden!
Het nagerecht (taart van citroen) is zeker aan te bevelen….

Une expérience culinaire et culturelle à ne pas manquer : ce restaurant propose une bonne voire très bonne cuisine dans un lieu hors du temps, familial et calme, au décor suranné, parfait pour un repas à la romaine, loin des adresses très touristiques. Le restaurant ne paie pas de mine, mais nous avons grandement apprécié le lieu après la visite de Saint-Jean-de-Latran.

Siamo stati oggi a pranzo in questo ristorante storico, dopo una visita alla Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano, distante pochissimi metri. Abbiamo mangiato in quattro, come antipasti due carciofi, verdure gratinate e un classico prosciutto crudo e mozzarella, due primi e due secondi con contorno di patate al forno, tre dolci (ottimo il tartufo di pizzo calabro, mi ha mandata in estasi) e tre caffè, per un totale di 120. Abbiamo atteso poco e il simpatico signore in bretelle che ci serviva è stato molto garbato e attento alle nostre esigenze. Ci torneremo sicuramente nelle prossime gite a Roma.
