On the watershed between the north and south of Madeira, the Portela Pass, located at 669 m above sea level, offers on a clear day a panoramic view of the green terraced fields of Porto da Cruz and the characteristic "Eagle Rock", Penha de Águia (590 m), overlooking the Atlantic. From the lookout, a hiking trail can lead you to Porto da Cruz (approx. 3h). There is a strong difference in altitude, but the view of the open sea and the poios is breathtaking. You can also make a thirst-quenching stop in the restaurant located on the belvedere (any kind of cuisine).

Très belle vue sur la côte et la route pour y arriver est superbe. Stand de spécialités et de fleurs sur la petite place.
