ROSEIRAL DA QUINTA DO ARCO

The garden of the quinta houses one of the largest collections of roses in Portugal (although it should be visited at the right time!). More than 17,000 roses are grown in this rose garden created by Miguel Albuquerque, President of the Regional Government of Madeira. They are labelled, which makes the visit informative. Don't miss the roseira do imperador introduced by Charles of Habsburg, the last emperor of Austria, during his exile in Madeira.
