No time difference between Spain and France. That said, the pace of life in Madrid is totally different from ours, especially in the summer. Between 2pm and 5pm, everything is idle: it's lunch and nap time.

Many museums and monuments close on Mondays. They are usually open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Here is a list of places that remain open on Mondays: the Reina Sofía Museum; the Prado Museum; the Thyssen-Bornemisza (from 12h to 16h); the Royal Palace; the Almudena Cathedral; the Wax Museum; visit to the Town Hall, Plaza de la Villa, at 17h; the Royal Carpet Factory; the Campo del Moro Gardens; Casa de Campo; the Retiro; the Sabatini Gardens; the Botanical Garden.

Enjoying yourself Madrid

Attention, Madrid time difference! Here, we eat late and restaurants rarely start their service before 1pm. Ditto in the evening, we don't have dinner before 9pm, but this usually goes on until midnight

Take a break Madrid

Bars open early, as early as late afternoon, and often close very late. It must be said that in Madrid, many bars turn into concert halls, which in turn can become clubs. Classical bars close between 2 and 3 am.

Small shops are generally open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8.30pm. Larger stores are open non-stop until 10pm.

Madrid never sleeps. You'll always find a place to go out. Beware, Madrilenians like to tour the bars for a long time and the atmosphere in the discos doesn't rise before 2am
