Matadero, a neo-Mudejar-style former slaughterhouse, exhibition and creative centers, a theater stage
Off the beaten track, this cultural centre is not located in Lavapiés, but further south in Arganzuela. The Matadero reflects the policy of local authorities to transform the city into a cultural reference. The Matadero gathers in former slaughterhouses (hence its name in Spanish) exhibition and creation centres, a theatre stage, etc. Neo-Mudejar-style slaughterhouses were built at the beginning of the 20th century on the banks of the Manzanares River. It is also possible to eat a piece between two exhibitions.

Escale culturelle sur le Rio
Une très belle reconversion des anciens abattoirs. Nombreuses expos à voir. Le site peut constituer un point de départ ou d'arrivée pour faire la promenade du Madrid Rio.

Superbe place pour les affaires culturels de Madrid. Ancien abattoir retourné en speace dans l'ensemble du fleuve Manzanares, avec des salles d'exposition, batiments pour concerts, parcs et quelques bistros agréables.
