SEMANA SANTA

The Semana Santa is perhaps the most important event of the year for all Spaniards. In Madrid, it is seen quite sober, but in all other regions (especially Andalusia), Holy Week is the object of strong devotion. But in short, the country is paralysed for a week to witness its love for Christ and to commemorate the Passion. Most of the country's saints come out of the churches for the occasion and are the object of processions followed by most of the local population. Not to be missed!
