CAFÉ EL ESPEJO

This superb café is a great classic in the Spanish capital and a meeting place for Madrid artists and intellectuals. With its Art Nouveau pavilion on the Paseo, the establishment is so splendid that no one can resist sitting in this setting, which fits so well with the neighbourhood, to enjoy a good coffee and churros. A bit old-fashioned, stilted and very late 19th century, this establishment is an oasis in the heart of the noisy Paseo de Recoletos. However, prices are a little high.
