At the end of the bay, beyond Jerma Palace, facing Zonqor Point. Built by Vittorio Cassar, at the request of Alof de Wignacourt, this powerful fort can house a hundred men ready for any attack. It was completed in 1615. At the time, it was the main control tower on the east coast, from which alarm signals and information were sent to smaller towers all the way to the capital.

Also used by the British, the tower served as a detention camp during the last war. It has been restored and, although now surrounded by modern buildings, still stands imposingly. Nearby, on the coast, you'll find saltworks that have been in operation for centuries.
