POST OFFICE MUSEUM

The Cyprus Post Museum (Ταχυδρομικό Μουσείο Κύπρου/Tachydromiko Mousio Kyprou) has changed little since its creation in 1981. Housed in a small two-storey building, it tells the story of the island's postal services between the first system set up by the Venetians in the ^16th century and the creation of the national post office in 1960. The museum boasts a rich collection of stamps, much sought-after by philatelists (available for purchase on site). Of particular note are those from the British period, depicting palm trees, camels and Queen Victoria.
