The restaurant has a very nice view of the ocean in a cozy place. You can expect a few minutes waiting for a table if you come in a peak hour, so I recommend stopping by early to get a nice spot. The food was good and prices are high, compatible with the place.
We stopped here for lunch after numerous recommendations from blogs and reviews. Besides the nice view, this place is otherwise mega hyped up. The food and service were mediocre at best. We asked the food runner to take a quick picture of us and she gave us the biggest attitude. The ambrosia burger, which is their specialty, was good but nothing special and definitely not worth the $25 price tag. Neither was the $14 French fries basket. You are paying for the view, but the view does not justify for the high price tag. Definitely just a one time experience for us.
It’s a restaurant with a million dollar view! Must visit place! The menu is simple but every dish is tasty. And the opportunity to drink a glass of beer looking at the famous California mist and the coastline is precious. Some tips: take in consideration that the restaurant is VERY popular but not spacious, so you might have a problem with parking and need to wait to be seated. So it’s better to come either before lunch time or a little bit later.
Extremely gorgeous area, and phenomenal view. Definitely overpriced for the value of food. Service was fair and overall a decent experience. Though we expected slightly more from the food
We went to Nepenthe for lunch. We were seated with a view of the ocean, 10/10 view while enjoying lunch but you can get similar views all along the big sur coast.
The food was definitely overpriced, as expected. The beef and barley soup (2.7/5.0) was good, nothing too special .
The Famous Ambrosiaburger (3.9/5.0) bread had the perfect amount of crispyness while still being soft on the inside, the flavor was good but had to add ketchup. It came with a garbanzo-kidney bean salad (3.8/5.0) which paired well with the burger and was well seasoned. The Caprese salad (2.5/5.0) had cucumber and tomatoes that were not bite sized which made it semi-awkward to eat different ingredients together. The flavor was also bland.
Overall, we didn't think it was worth the price but it was worth the experience of being inside a giant tree house by the coast. It was a basic burger for $25 dollars which wasn't very filling. The menu is very limited. The food took ~40 minutes, which was admittedly longer than it took for some of the other people who where seated later than us but received their food before us.
A special place with a unique vibe and amazing views. We had pricey, but really good sandwiches in the cafe. Upstairs restaurant looked more fancy but was also much more busy, so we were happy with our choice.
The food is very good, the wine list insane, but the reason to come here is the ambiance. We had the Ambosiaburger and Chicken Breast sandwiches, both excellent; the Shrimp BLT is on my wish list. Fries are abundant but just ok. As we were leaving they were setting up for dinner with long candles on each table and a steak-heavy menu. Weather allowing, sit outside overlooking miles of Big Sur coast, or inside by the huge fire pit looking out enormous windows.
Loved this place. We sat right on the railing where the view was incredible and the local birds kept us entertained. Food was great, service was good. We'd return if we are ever back in the area.
Beautiful view. Food was delicious. Their chicken sandwich is 10/10. Their fries?!?!?! FRESH. Worth the 30 mins wait to be seated. Would definitely come back
Food and service are solid but the selling point of this place is the atmosphere. It is simply a gorgeous setting with phenomenal views. It is such a pleasure to get to enjoy a beverage, snack, or meal in this majestic place.
We will definitely visit again if we are in the area because the views are stunning; however, the next visit, I’ll likely grab a drink from the bar and sit on the benches out back to enjoy the view (and eat somewhere else).

바에서 커피를 주문했는데 바 직원이 정말 부지런하게 움직여서 빨리 나오고 맛도 있어서 만족 했어요.
