Charming little museum featuring objects from the to the century, imperial garments, weapons, coins, banknotes..

This small museum has a certain charm all of its own. Its surprising architecture blends colonial style and Indian influence. Formerly the residence of Ras Biru Abtegabriel, Minister of War under Menelik II, the museum exhibits objects from the 14th to the 20th century, including some snapshots of the birth and expansion of the capital. On display are imperial garments, weapons, coins and banknotes... Upstairs, handicrafts; in the basement, a reproduction of Lucy's skeleton!

pour la vue et l’accueil sympathique
Petit musé sans prétention mais avec un accueil sympathique. Quelques photos intéressantes de la lutte contre l'envahisseur Italien. La vue de l'extérieur vaut le coup d’œil si vous êtes dans les environs.

Pas le musée le plus incroyable qui soit, le sous sol contenant la reproduction du squelette de Lucy est la partie la plus sérieuse.

A l'intérieur on rencontre Lucy l'australopithèque, diverses reliques (sculptures, outils, tenues de roi, toiles) retraçant l'histoire éthiopienne.
