GRAND DUKE VYTAUTAS MILITARY MUSEUM

The Grand Duke Vytautas Military Museum (Vytauto Didžiojo karo muziejus) is dedicated to the history of Lithuania, and mainly to the painful period of 1939-1945. Many Jews lived in Kaunas and were detained in the ghetto before being executed in Fort No. 9. The Kaunas Belfry with its large carillon made in Belgium in 1935 is a famous concert venue in the museum tower. Concerts are usually held on Saturdays and Sundays at 4 pm.
