VICTORY PARK (UZVARAS PARKS)

This 40-hectare park is an important green lung on Rīga's left bank. It's ideal for a walk or jog in fine weather or in autumn. In winter, a cross-country ski track is installed thanks to artificial snow. The park takes its name from the monument commemorating the Soviet victory. The 79 m-high obelisk, erected in 1985 to celebrate the Soviet army's victory over Nazi Germany, was removed in 2023 following the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
