This is one of the main reasons to come to the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood. Frenchmen Street, according to the locals, is the real street of music, thirst, dancing and partying, much more than the touristy Bourbon, which is best avoided for a more authentic experience. If you want to discover new jazzmen, listen to experimental bands, go to one of the many bars and clubs on Frenchmen Street, which are mostly clustered south of Royal Street.
