The museum is dedicated to the art of the American South and has the largest collection of its kind in the country, thanks in part to the donation of more than 600 works from the private collection of entrepreneur and philanthropist Roger H. Ogden, as well as thousands more from collectors across the country. Artists on display at the museum include George Dureau, Clementine Hunter, Ida Kohlmeyer and George Ohr. Several educational programs also for all audiences.
