Built in 1891 by German architect Dietrich Einsiedel for the Jackson Brewing Company, the building housed the largest independent brewery in the South. The only brewery to survive Prohibition, it was in operation for over 80 years. Today, the brewery is no longer there and has been replaced by a dozen stores including H&M, Urban Outfitters and Vans. Note that you can get a tax refund voucher at each of the boutiques. Also on site: four restaurants including the inevitable Cafe Beignet.
