Not my first time staying and definitely not my last.

Perfect location in the French Quarter.. enjoyed our stay and the building was a former Jazz museum. Please move the coffee station away from the famous trumpets on the wall.

The room was unclean and unsafe. During our one night stay my friend and I couldn’t lock our door so we had to rely on the chain lock and luckily we did. At about 7 in the morning someone shoved our door open which required quite a bit of strength because it took both of us to open the door, after they had shoved the door open they proceeded to put their hand through the door and try to unlock the chain lock, they only quit when we woke and sat up. I would like to say no maid or room service staff would come at 7 am and they wouldn’t continue to try to open and break their way in when it was obvious guests were staying in there. The room was over all dirty, the mattress was covered in stains and dirt, the floors was covered in dirt and the bathroom was disgusting, it’s clear they only replace towels in the bathroom and don’t provide any other cleaning. The mattress and pillows were also on the cheap side the hotel location and everything else was not worth the 215 dollars I paid. Overall it was unsafe unclean and just tried to pass that off as “historical charm”.

We have an excellent space, and the staff is friendly

The staff were very friendly and responsive so I added a star. Our room was disgusting - there’s really no other way to put it. The sheets were badly stained, and when we asked for new sheets, those were stained, too (less so than the original sheets, but still gross). There were no cleaning staff after 4, so we had to change the sheets ourselves which exposed us to the horrifying mattress that looked like people had died on it - like get a mattress pad so no one has to look at that if you aren’t going to change out the ancient mattresses. The floor was sticky everywhere with patches of sticky goop here and there. The man at the front did mop it for us while we went out for drinks, and it was better when we returned, but still sticky in places with some spots. The closet was covered in mold, which I get - this is New Orleans, but on top of everything else, was off-putting. What’s frustrating is the courtyard is really cute and most of the issues I listed are highly fixable - had the floor and sheets been clean I would’ve given 4-5 stars. The room was run-down and musty, but I can deal with those if the room has at least been cleaned. The icing on the cake is when we got our car back from $50 valet parking, my battery light was on and we had to replace the battery so something must’ve been left on in my car all night. Overall quite terrible experience and particularly unfortunate because these issues are not that expensive to resolve.
