Great little spot. Everyone was helpful and gave tips for places to see.

Great room and service. Although I expected the room to be a bit bigger and a microwave oven in the room would be nice. The hotel has a vintage look and atmosphere which matches the vibe of the culture of the area. The location was excellent, right at the center of excitement. A lot of visitor spots and restaurants are in a walking distance. Definitely recommend staying there.

This was my first time staying at International House Hotel, but won’t be my last. Check-in & check-out were seamless, the location is quite safe, it’s an easy walk to the Quarter, rooms were quite comfortable & the bar, Loa, has a lovely ambience. During my stay, there was a St. Joseph’s Altar in the lobby, which showed me that the hotel keeps the culture & unique traditions of New Orleans alive. The rooms were nicely appointed & my mattress was just right; not too hard & not too soft. I always appreciate rooms with mini refrigerators, hair dryers, an iron & an ironing board. My only suggestion would be to have a lighted makeup mirror, as the lighting in the room was a bit too dark for me. WiFi worked well throughout my stay. The permanent Banksy exhibit is fun to browse. I loved the mosaic art in the elevators as well. The staff at reception was always helpful & cheerful, with the exception of the woman with the glasses who checked me out on Wednesday morning; she was slightly surly. Eric & Taylor, who manned the Loa bar, were wonderful & made elegant cocktails. My main compliment, however, is for the owner, Sean. I planned to attend the St. Joseph’s Night event in Central City. Though it was easy to Uber there, I was worried about catching one back to the hotel, as the streets surrounding the event would then be blocked off & the area was known to be a bit unsafe. I didn’t want to walk around after dark in an area that I was unfamiliar with. Sean suggested that I call the hotel if there were any problems catching an Uber back; he said that someone would come & pick me up. THAT is customer service! Luckily, I was able to get an Uber back, but it’s always reassuring to know that the hotel is looking out for you.

Our experience started out poorly. The guy working the front desk on March 6, 2:40pm assured us he moved our reservation back a day but when we showed up, it turns out he never actually updated it in the system or did anything. Luckily, the lady (Shay?) went above and beyond to get the issue fixed and even let us check in early. The rooms here are luxurious, quiet, high ceilings, and the hotel has a great vibe and was very accommodating throughout our entire stay. The location is good especially if you don't want to stay right in the Quarter, it's only a short walk to Canal St and everything else. However there is no parking and the closest garages are $40+ a night so plan accordingly. I would definitely stay here again because of the great service and nice rooms.

Love the presence of locally distilled spirits in the great bar.
