Great location if you’re in town for a conference. Right across the street from the conference center. Rooms a small and simple but just what you need if you’re not planning on spending a lot of time in your room. The showerhead water pressure is by far the strongest I’ve ever experienced, definitely relaxing after a long day of walking. The beds are very comfortable, blankets are really thin though. Also my room had some trash and a clipped nail (gross) in the corner of the bathroom and a hair on one of the counters. I had already unpacked everything and was settled in so I didn’t want to complain. They also offer breakfast every morning. I only would grab some hard boiled eggs since I was in a hurry but my colleagues enjoyed the waffles and eggs. The valet and doormen were really welcoming.
Overall a nice place if you’re mainly going to be at the conference center, but also walkable to French quarter and stores.
Driving to a convention with a broken foot, I was excited to find a hotel within a few feet of the Convention Center. I called saying, “I am considering a stay at your hotel and want to know about parking availability and price.” The reply was $18. Very good; close, reasonable room rate, amazing parking rate. So I booked the room. When I arrived, the price was suddenly $43 + tax. “Oh, the $18 is part of our Cruise Package,” said the same voice as on the phone. He then said it was because I booked through Expedia. Nope. I called the hotel directly first. I said, “oh that’s deceptive,” to which the other desk clerk agreed. I am not saying the charge was excessive for valet parking, but we had no intention of using the valets - and we didn’t. What I am saying is there’s a name for what happened to us. The name is Bait and Switch. Bait. And. Switch. Hampton Inn. Bait and Switch. Now I wonder if there an entire class of customers who have been treated this way.
Great location for convention center events. Our room wasn’t that clean… lots of hair, only one roll of TP, etc. Service was great though and the valet staff was very accommodating!
What can we say about this place….awesome. 6 day stay for the Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate Convention. Clean, neat, and a great mix of old and new put together tastefully. Greeted right away by Ronnie at the desk with a big smile, hello and overall warm welcome and every time we saw her through our six day stay. Ronnie was the go to person along with Brennan, Glenn and Bob the bartender, they were all very helpful in finding the best places to eat, have fun or have a good chat with; in fact a lot of people were just nice and friendly which made the Hampton Inn that much cozier and warm. We even met a couple of the friendly maintenance crew who were working hard but had time to stop and say hello. Overall this is a solid place which we will return to.
Great location for the hotel with the Convention Center right next door and centrally located nicely.
One small thing could be attended to, warm up the pool, it was freezing.
We loved the room with the kitchen and cooked a few meals.
Staff was very friendly, we stayed for a cruise and utilized their park and shuttle service. Unfortunately, no one answered when we need to be picked up from port and had to pay 40 dollar cab fare to hotel. Also, paying 450 dollars a night seems ridiculous when your hotel room has cockroaches roaming around.
We spent one night here on a trip through New Orleans. First it’s location was perfect for what we wanted to do. It’s was near Route 10. So getting to and back out of the the hotel was easy. The valet parking was convenient. The staff was very friendly and more than willing to accommodate any requests. There are several great places to eat nearby. Additionally, it is very near to many tourists spots including paddle boats and the French Quarter.
