Hostel with a pool, and a highly social, festive experience, offering discounted rates on certain excursions.
Housed in a beautiful, colorful house in the Mid-City neighborhood, this hostel offers more than just dorm beds and private rooms. It's a highly social and festive experience, with a courtyard featuring an in-ground pool, barbecue and live music stage. The hostel also hosts potlucks (including the famous crawfish boils) and backyard parties, and offers discounted rates on tours (plantations, swamps, etc.). Services: free wifi, fully equipped kitchen, common lounge, etc.

I recommend if you're staying in New Orleans, the give you a unique key for each type of genre of music, access to a fridge to store your food and plenty of room outside and in to explore and vibe. I also appreciated it being only $81 for one person, at the time I stayed, that's pretty good nowadays. The only reason I'm leaving 4 stars is because I am used to having bigger beds and a traditional hotel setup, the bed-bunk seemed smaller than normal, but satisfactory, anf I got a good 7 hours of sleep so I'm not complaining.

Highly recommend this affordable, friendly, quirky, clean hostel! Very easy to make friends here, go out on the town (as there's a street car stop not even a block away), or stay in and just relax at the hostel!

Really chill place. Everybody is there to hang out, and it's easy to make friends from total strangers.

I found this originally many years ago as a Graduate Student looking to save some money as I attended a large conference downtown for my job. Since, I have returned often, as I find the location to be just right for enjoying New Orleans larger than the tourist pull of Bourbon Street. There are multiple coffee shops, breweries and places to visit - and truly the streetcar is RIGHT there. You can walk, ride or run the the bike trail nearby - its just a great location and the staff is nice. Its always a good adventure for sure.

Stayed in a private room - reasonably priced, and everything works. Street parking available - it's a residential neighbourhood so park anywhere. Very close to the streetcar line, and close to the French Quarter.
